Machu Picchu war einfach unglaublich. Wir sind den Tag vorher per Zug angereist und haben eine kurze Nacht in Aguas Calientes verbracht. Um 4.30 Uhr sind wir dann wieder aufgestanden um den ersten Bus hoch nach Machu Picchu zu nehmen. Der Eintritt und die Busfahrt sind zwar sehr teuer, aber es hat sich trotzdem sehr gelohnt. Um 6.30 Uhr haben wir uns dann fuer den Berg "Wayna Picchu" registrieren lassen auf den nur 400 Leute pro Tag hoch duerfen. Angekommen in Cusco, bemerkt man sofort dass dies eine wohlhabende Gegend sein muss. Die Stadt ist einfach wunderschoen aber leider auch mit Touristen uebersaeht (Zur Zeit aber nicht ganz soviel, da noch keine "High" Season ist). Die Tickets fuer Macchu Pichu haben wir schon gekauft und morgen geht es per Bahn nach Aguas Calientes um dort zu uebernachten und dann am naechsten Morgen den ersten Bus (5.30 Uhr) hoch nach Macchu Pichu zu nehmen. Ayacucho ist eine sehr gepflegte Stadt und ein idealer Zwischenstop fuer die lange und harte Reise durch die Anden in Richtung Cusco. Ayacucho besitzt offiziell 33 Kirchen, inoffiziell sind es noch ein paar mehr. Ausserdem gibt es viele Museen und eine sehenswerte Innenstadt. mehr ›
Mit dem Bus durch die Anden zu fahren ist immer etwas besonderes, vor allem auf ungeteerten, mit Schlagloechern uebersehten Strassen! Nichtsdestotrotz sind die Busfahrten durch die Anden atemberaubend schoen und aufregend. Die Strassen (diesen Namen haben sie nicht verdient) sind gerade so breit wie der Bus selbst und das mit Gegenverkehr. An den Seitenraendern, die sehr oft ausgebrochen sind, geht es die meiste Zeit steil und tief in den Abgrund. Nach den Anden und dem Strand ging es zunaechst mit dem Bus 15 Stunden nach Lima. Dort direkt innerhalb einer Stunde ein Flugticket nach Iquitos gekauft. Welcome to the Jungle. Dort waren wir 4 Tage lang in einer Junglelodge, 180 Km tief im Urwald. Wir haben alle wilden Tiere gesehen und vor allem gehoert (Nachts). Einfach unglaublich. mehr ›
Mancora ist eine Kuestenstadt ganz im Norden von Peru. Dort gibt es einen wunderschoenen Traumstand mit perfekten Surferwellen und keinen Leuten. Surfen, Sonne, Haengematte, Essen, wieder Surfen. mehr ›
Baños ist eine kleine aber feine Kurstadt mit vielen heissen Quellen und Thermalbaedern. Cuenca ist im Gegensatz zu Quito viel zivilisierter. Die Strassen und Gehwege sind sauber. Reinungsdienste putzen diese sogar mit Seife. Der Wohlstand ist in Cuenca zu Hause und es kommt uns eher vor, als waehren wir in einer europaeischen Stadt. Key West with its bridges and beautiful nature was impressive. We found the best place to sleep you ever can find. Our "hotel" was over the sea and with a beautiful view and kind park rangers. As you can see, we had a lot of fun there. We also visited the southest point of the dryland usa. mehr ›

Team White (Heiko, Samy and Thomas) met Team Red (Patrick, Tobi and Christoph) in the morning at a nice café after a long drive from Chicago for Team White and along drive from Flint for Team Red. After breakfast we went to the Coca Cola Museum in Downtown Atlanta. After we watched how coke is made we tried drinks made by the Coca Cola Company from all over the world. Most of them tasted yucky.. So everybody tried over 60 different tastes!!! On saturday the 20th we headed out for Chicago, Illinois formely known as the windy city. We arrived in Chicago at noon and moved into our great hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. It was such a great hotel direct in downtown Chicago. We just paided 59 Dollar for one night. At the first day we walked to the sea front and to the Navy Pier. We visited the Millenium Park with its Bean and the open sky concert hall. We had for lunch the famous "Deep Dish Pizza", a special pizza only made in Chicago. Started with snow, ice, wind and minus 10 ° Celsius in Detroit Rock City. The airplane was very empty so Samy and me could sit on three seats and lay down and relax. After a two hour flight our first stop was in Miami, Florida. It was very warm in Miami and we got our first temperatur shock because the airplane was soooo cold. Yes, we did it. On November 15th we finally drove to Toronto, Canada! The car didnīt make any problems. At the border to Canada we had to go out and the officers controlled our whole car. But they found nothing. We fetched our stamps for the passports and went on to Toronto. We had the best weather you ever can imagine! After checking in in our hotel we went for a walk through the city and to the huge CN Tower of Toronto. It was great up there. We shot a little video in the escalator. This weekend we decided to drive to Detroit, Michigan. One of our destination was the huge Henry Ford Museum in Greenwich Village. Befor we went to the museum, we had some lunch at famoushamburger. They have great and big burgers. Thomas and Patrick took the huge one pound burger. If you finish it, you will get one the "wall of fame". And they did. After a hard week at the University we decided to drive to Toronto and the Niagara Falls at the weekend. So we hit the road at 8 o´clock in the morning, direction east. Unfortunately after 15 minutes driving our engine decided to brake down direct on the highway 69. We couldn´t restart it. We called several towing firms and the police to get help but here in the USA (Michigan) nobody helps you! We stood there for two hours on the shoulder of the highway and nothing happend. Hello in Flint, Michigan. On the following pictures you can see our new home here in Flint. It is one of two big campus village apartments direct on the campus. There is also an overview of the campus and the University itself. We took some pictures of the Outlet 20 Miles away from Flint. We spent one evening at a hooters restaurant and after that we went to big bowling center with 52 Bowling lines. We stood up very early to see the sunset at the rim of the canyon. After breakfast we hiked the "Bright Angel Trail". It is a 3 miles way down to an overlook where we made one of our amazing group photos!! :-) The Canyon is unbelievable wide and deep. Great! At 1:00 pm we started the permanent drove to Flint, MI. On the route to Flint we will pass the States Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana and finally reach our destination Flint in Michigan. Sometimes we stopped to have some huge sandwiches. mehr ›
After we travelled on parts of the historical "Route 66" from Vegas (Nevada) to the "Grand Canyon South Rim" (Arizona) we tried to get a permit to make a two-day hike. You need such a permit if you sleep on the bottom of Grand Canyon. But we didnīt get one. So we decided to make just a day-hike at the next day. We walked along the rim and had a great view over the Canyon. For dinner we went to a "Yippee-Ei-O Steak-House" and had a great steak with corn, beans and potatos. mehr ›
This day we visited the Hover Dam. It was so hot when we leaved the ac car and the temperatur outside is nearly 100°F (37°C) Because we are "good students" we took a guided tour to see the inside of Hover Dam, the power plants. With very splitting headaches (beside our responsible driver of the day - Heiko) we drove to fabulous LAS VEGAS, Nevada. We checked in in the "Motel 6" next to the MGM Grand. We went directly on the STRIP. We started our tour at MGM, then we went to NewYork NewYork and started to gamble at the Bellagio Casino. Everybody lost some money beside of Patrick. This morning we gave back the camper in L.A. Then, we travelled with our new car to a real big student party at the University of California in Santa Barbara. After we arrived we met the guys from our last stay in IV (Isla Vista), had a cuple of beers and went to a party. So crazy - the streets were full of people. This day we did nothing beside laying arround at the ocean, watched the "Baywatch" scenerie, walked through the city and played some beachvolleyball with some american guys. It was the day which showed us how films will be made. In L.A are a lots of film studios. We decided to visit the biggest - Universal Studios in West Hollywood. We saw so many things everybody knows out of film. We made a studio tour and saw sceneries from films like "War of Worlds" "The Grinch", "The Fast and the Furious" and also the street from "Desperate Housewife". There were also some rollercoasters called "Jurrasic Park", "Revenge of the Mummy", the Simpsons ride in "Krustyland" and we saw 3 and 4D films or shows about, Terminator2, Shrek and Waterworld. What a shocking morning!! We stood up and had some breakfast. We decided to drive to L.A. The first shock was, that our battery was low and the engine didnīt start. With the emergency button which conects the second battery with the first, we started the engine. Second shock, the gas was low! "We refilled the gas-tank yesterday!!?!?" Our first thought was, that somebady stole our gas because we couldnīt lock the gas-tank. But it was only because of the battery.. After driving some miles the gas-tank arrow went up. We got the option to stay another day at the camping place in the Yosemite Valley because our neighbours wanted to leave earlier than expected, but we decided to drive to Santa Clarita where the famous "Magic Mountain" is. Itīs one of the Six Flags Parks in USA with its exciting rolercoasters. We arrived in Santa Clarita in the evening and went to a shop. There we asked somebody about the opening times of Six Flag. Unfortunately the Park is cloesed on workdays over fall and winter. So our plan was gone. We slept at the "Hilton Hotel" parking place. mehr ›
At 5 am the bells rang. We wanted to go to the top of "Half Dome" The trail is 26.9 km long and goes up to 8842 feet. So we had to hurry. It was a really great hike. We passed some hugh waterfalls, amazing nature and funny animals. The last 900 ft to the top of half dome was a very steep climb up at the east side of the granite dome, only secured by two cables. We had a breathtaking overview over the whole valley. By going down Samuel and Heiko saw a baby-bear near the trail. After walking the whole day our feet were burning and hurting. We had a lot of luck tonight. No trubbles with black bears or rangers. we spend the night on a parkingplace in the Yosemite. After breakfast we went on driving to the Yosemite Village. On the way we saw the "El Capitain" a famous climbing rock. At the village we looked arround and checked up where we could sleep and which trails we could take. We also visited the Yosemite Falls with less water. We climbed up the big rocks and watched some pro-climbers there. Our Plan for this day was to bike a lot at Mammoth Mountain. So we drove to the main gondel station and rent some full suspencion mountainbikes. At this famous ski- and biking area you don´t have to drive up by yourself, just sit in the cabin and relax. We went up to the top and took the "of the top" trail which goes right down to the valley. We went up three times and drove somecool but difficult trails. the best was "seven bridges". After biking nearly three hours we had coffee and lunch at the camper. No ending actions!! We stood up early and dumped out our "black and grey water" which were very full! ;-) Then we went to the "Rounded Hill Marina" were we hired some Jetskis. Heiko and Thomas were "Team red", Patrick and Samy were "Team blue". We drove the Jetskis up to 45 miles (72km/h), jumped and had a lot of fun!! Patrick and Samy were thrown of two times. We stood up early and went with Marco to a bike rental shop and got a special offer ($40 bugs each a day). Everybody had a real good bike. Had a great trip on difficult single-trails withour a shutle-service to go up. So we had to climb up to more than 7000ft (2100 meters) two times. The trails were not comparable with german trails. So the most of us fell their bikes once or more... After six hours full-power-cycling everybody was tired at the evening. Had a great breakfast "made by Terry" and went to a mall and buyed some sport clothes like jogging and hiking shoes. We passed Sacramento, the capitol of California, because everybody said that it is not that interesting. So we drove directly to the Lake Tahoe and searched for a perfect place near the lake. After the breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheese we drove with Jim's car to Napa Valley. That's a very famous Wine area. There we visited the Old Faithful Geyser, very nice but it was not that big than we expected. Afterwards we drove to the wine valley "Castello di Amarosa". They produce the wine in a faked castle. It looks like a very old castel, but it is new build for the winery. Tom, Heik and Sam tasted some very good wines in there. Pat had to drive, so he couldn't taste anything. We left Toni, Melita, und Schatzi Santos and drove arround the S.F. Bay and stopped quiete before the Golden Gate Bridge to make some pictures. We passed the "Golden Gate" and stopped at the other side to make some pictures again. Drove our Camper to Ocean Beach and walked through the Golden Gate Park, where a lot of crazy people stayed arround. Patrick also visited the J. Joplin tree. This day we had a really great american breakfast with bacon and eggs. Drove to Embarcadero station and walked the Embarcadero St and passed a lot of Piers till Pier 39, than to Fisherman´s Whalf. We chilled on a beach and had a wonderful view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Started to travel northin the direction of San Francisco. At the drive we got some infos that the weekend will be very dangerous in S.F. because one of Hells Angels´presidents got shot and this weekend will be the funeral. We drove to Hayward where we got a guided tour at SEW EURODRIVE assembling plant. Then we drove to San Leandro. A city at the other side of the bay. Here lives an aunt of Heiko and her husband, the major of San Leandro. After that we drove to S.F. by Bart (S-Bahn). Good morning Half Moon Bay! Today our destination was Santa Cruz Downtown. We parked our Camper up on a cliff and the first we saw were the real PRO-Surfers. After a burito-breakfast we decided to go surfing at Cowell Beach. So we rent boards and wet suits and tried to surf for almost four hours. Everybody got a cuple of waves :) For a relaxed night we searched a comfortable parking lot, cooked shrimps with spaghetti, had some beers, walked through Santa Cruz and finally went sleeping. mehr ›
We woke up really late (10am) cause the game last night was really hard and we all got drunk. First we drove to the next restrooms cause the "black water" in our camper was full. We stopped at "Jack in the box" where Thomas and Patrick took also two Hamburgers with cheese. Next we stopped at a the Hwy 1 for having some sandwiches. After cleaning our "blackwater" and refilling our drinkingwater we drove on the Hwy 1 to Big Sur. There we saw the sunset which was really nice looking. We woke up at Isla Vista (IV) because of a very loud lawn-mower. Everybody slept very good at the Camper. The whole day we stayed at the beach in SB DT (Santa Barbara Downtown), played beachvolleyball and beachball and had same baths in the Pacific Ocean. After we had relaxed a lot we went back to IV to search for an house party. At a house quiet next to the beach we were invited to play "beerpong". It was very funny with those people and they invited us to the CameBackParty. There all Students will come back and continue studying. So we will have a real big party on 26th September. mehr ›
The free breakfast in the Hostel consisted of one blueberry muffin. Patrick and Heiko went to pick up the really hugh, 25ft long FLEEDWOOD Camper (V10 engine, 6.8l cubic capacity, nearly 300 PS, gas gazzling)Then we got ready to start our trip to San Fran along the coast Highway No.1 and to see the national/state parks in the backland of Cali. On this morning we stand up at 6 o´clock and went directly to the beach. Samy, Thomas and Heiko went to beach jogging. There were a lot of surfers in the water. We took a bath in the Pacific Ocean, beautiful. We drove to San Diego downtown. A really beautiful and clean city. We had breakfast in Little Italy and after that we walked to the harbor. There were a lot of ships and a really big airplain carrier from the US army. At this day we also booked our camper. We also had been at the famous San Diego zoo. At this morning we woke up at 4 o´clock because of the jet lag. We had our breakfast at the Griddle Café on Sunset Blvd. The American breakfast is just too much. Everybody got 5 to 6 scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese and coffee. After breakfast we parked our car at the Kodak Theater in LA. We took a guided tour with a Mercedes Sprinter without a roof. They just cut is up. The tour took 2 hours. We saw all the famous buildings in LA, Beverly Hills and Bel Air. After Hollywood we decided to drive to an outlet in the near of Santa Barbara. Flight from London to LA. At first everything worked fine. We got up, had a very good breakfast and then we went to the terminal 5 to get our flight to Los Angeles. We only had to wait about 30 minutes, so everything was perfect at this time. The flight to LA was of course boring. We landed at 1 pm in LA. It took 30 minutes to enter the USA. Everybody of us got the stamp from the officer in his passport. After that we waited for another 30 minutes for our baggage. Of course nobody got his baggage. It still was in London, maybe. Flight to London. After we arrived in London, we ran to the terminal T5. London Heathrow is so big so we had to take a bus to get to the terminal. We passed our flight for 10 minutes. Everything had gone wrong on this day. So, we went to the British Airways desk and ask for some help. A nice woman called Debby gave us some new tickets for the next day and she also gave us vouchers for a really nice hotel called Renaissance.
